Neon Mermaid Comics was created after owner Chris Castro moved to the area and discovered there wasn't a local comic and gaming shop nearby. The closest stores were about 30 minutes away in every direction. What started as a desire for a place to buy comics, play games, and connect with fellow fans became an opportunity to build something for the community.

What nobody expected was just how much the community would embrace the shop in return.

The moments that matter most aren't measured in sales. They're the conversations, friendships, and the people who stop to say, "Thank you for having this place." Hearing that Neon Mermaid Comics has become a safe haven for members of the community is a privilege that never gets taken for granted.

Neon Mermaid Comics exists today because of the incredible people who continue to support it, gather here, and make it feel like home.
